Flying to San Miguel de Allende
There are two cities you can fly into: Leon (BJX: Bajio International Airport) or Queretaro (QRO: Queretaro International Airport). When shopping for flights, we recommend you look into both BJX and QRO.
Leon and Queretaro are both a 90-minute shuttle drive to San Miguel’s City Center.
Once your flights are booked, be sure to schedule your shuttle service to/from the airport.
Shuttle services to San Miguel: Bajiogo recommended by our wedding planner.
Staying in San Miguel de Allende
There are a number of wonderful hotels and rentals in the area - the key is to stay in "Zona Centro" for walkability and ease. Here is a starter list of recommended places to stay:
AirBnB
Hotels
- Casa 1810 - We recommend staying at the Centro location as that is in center of downtown San Miguel. They also have an amaing rooftop bar.
- Live Aqua - Recommended by our wedding planner and also in the Michelin Guide!
- Numu by Hyatt - A Hyatt collection hotel in Zone Centro. Recommended by our wedding planner.
- Rosewood San Miguel - A pricier hotel option for anyone interested. An amazing property with many great amenities.
- Casa de Sierra Nevada - This is another more expensive hotel option recommend by our wedding planner.
General travel tips
San Miguel is small enough that you can walk most anywhere, but cabs are plentiful and there is a fixed rate of about 4 dollars no matter where you go in the city. There is also Uber in San Miguel. Because of the ease of getting around and very limited parking, we HIGHLY discourage renting a car.
Q+A
Do I get a plus one?
Due to limited capacity, we can only accommodate guests who are formally invited. If you've received a plus one, they will be specifically addressed within the invitation. Otherwise, we ask that only the named people on the invitation join us.
We appreciate your understanding!
Do you have a hotel block?
At this time we do not have a hotel block for guests. There are over 200 hotels and AirBnBs around the city. We encourage invited guests to visit the travel page for our recommended hotels and AirBnBs around San Miguel.
What time should I fly in?
There will be a welcome parade and cocktail party on Thursday evening open to all at 5:30 PM. If you wish to attend, please arrive on Thursday. Otherwise, Friday morning is great as the wedding will be Friday afternoon.
Are children invited?
As much as we love your little ones, our wedding is exclusively for adults.
